Bangkok, Thailand
Dr. B.K. Passi organized and coordinated the first Creativity and Innovation Day virtual conference. Participants from Chicago, Buenos Aires, UK, Bangkok, and Buffalo, NY joined together to try out a new way of communication about creativity and innovation in real time.
A number of topics were on the 60 minute agenda, including:
- the myths and science of creativity
- socio-economic development and creativity
- the myths and science of creativity
- learning organization, systems thinking and creativity
Cayucos, California
Creativity and Innovation Day/Idea Week. Creativity will be celebrated on the central coast of California on April 19th at the Unity Church, 1490 Southwood Drive, San Luis Obispo California. It was expected that participants would take part in workshops, rituals, music and art.
"This will be an opportunity to treat the community to local talent and to remind everyone of their innate birthright to creativity, and to collaborate and ignite creative imaginations and make the San Luis Obispo community CID celebration a day to remember!" someone from the California organization said.
Zaragoza, Spain
A city of 600,000 people between Barcelona and Madrid. The local CID planning group intends to make a movie that will show what creativity means to the citizens of that city. The film will be made in the main square of Zaragoza
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The CID Local Contact has put together a group to organize creativity events for April 20 and 21, 2003. The committee plans to recruit people and institutions to join them in a huge CID celebration. As we all know, Argentina continues to struggle with a massive economic downturn. Hopefully CID 2003 will fuel the innovative thinking needed to move Argentina forward.
Merida, Mexico
The Local Contact is planning CID celebrations at his college. A creativity rally is on the agenda.
Santiago, Chile
The CID Local from Santiago, Chile, reports that Chile already has a "National Citizen Creativity Day" on November 16th. He will also take the lead to celebrate CID in April. Imagine having two days a year to celebrate creativity!
Buffalo, NY
Creative Connections and the International Center for Studies in Creativity will be sponsoring and hosting the Western New York component of Creativity and Innovation Day.
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The CID Local Contact in Buenos Aires, Argentina, reports that arrangements have been made with the Buenos Aires Photo Club to organize a competition on April 21. All of the photos entered in the competition will be published on their new Argentina CID WEB page now being constructed.
Amherst, Massachusetts
The CID Local Contact for Amherst, Massachusetts, reports that local CID celebrations will be tied with the Patriot's Day holiday.
The main feature will be the Labyrinth Experience. The Labyrinth Experience, which will be facilitated by Joe Miguez, employs an ancient form whose pathway we follow to discover new insight, new forms. "As a metaphor for finding our way, the labyrinth shakes up and clarifies our perspective, leading us on surprising twists and turns to the center from which we can look back on and ahead to our own creative journey."
Kiefersfelden, Germany
The CID Local Contact for Kiefersfelden recently announced that CID 2003 will be celebrated at FH Kufstein, a local university in conjunction with the foundation of the Institute for Creativity and Innovation. Three major events are planned between 2003 though 2005 that will not only involve experts in the realm of innovation and creativity but also the public. |
