Living Like Leonardo
An evening in celebration of the creative potential in all of us. Celebrations were kicked off on April 15th, Leonardo da Vinci's 551st birthday, at Roxy Blu. Along with birthday cake, candles, music and all the other stuff you expect at a party guests were offered a chance to experience and explore their creativity with other creative minded people. All to honour da Vinci as a model of creative thinking through diverse disciplines such as art and engineering.
The first annual LEO Awards were awarded to:
- Dofasco Inc., The Leo Award for Creativity & Innovation in Business accepted by Theresa O'Halloran, Manager, Technology Resource Development
- soulpepper Theatre, The Leo Award for Creativity & Innovation in the Arts accepted by Artistic Director, Albert Shultz
- The Toronto Zoo, "Operation Conservation" The Leo Award for Creativity & Innovation in Education accepted by Cal White, President of the Toronto Zoo.
Admit It! You're Creative Workshop
Sponsored by the Creative Education Foundation, "Admit It! You're Creative" offered an evening
packed with inspiring content, fun, and networking opportunities.
Espresso doses of 30-minute concurrent sessions were presented by creativity leaders from the greater Toronto community. Choices offered were:

Dofasco Employees Celebrate Creativity & Innovation Day
A week of activities were hosted by Dofasco's Creativity & Innovation Community of Practice, a group of employees from across the company who have an interest in leveraging creativity and innovation skills to benefit the company and all employees. Activities included: Learning Forums, Cafeteria Celebrations, spotlight on employee artists on the internal website and plant-wide distribution of an Information Package. Read more...
CEF YouthWise Workshop
"To facilitate the wisdom of youth and their mentors--empowering them with the essential skills needed for a creative and productive life." The Creative Education Foundation Toronto Chapter hosted a CEF YouthWise Workshop in honor of Creativity & Innovation Day.
- Learn how to teach kids new ways of approaching old problems
- Learn to teach the principles of CPS and other creative thinking techniques
- Learn to facilitate interactive sessions in school and community settings
- Learn new ways to tap your own creativity
- Join a CEF YouthWise Outreach team that will offer CEF YouthWise programs through schools, organizations and community centers in the greater Toronto area.
